The Town of Carbondale Utilities Department will be replacing the sewer main along 2nd street to improve the sewer infrastructure for long-term reliability. The project involves replacing approximately 1,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer main along 2nd Street, from Snowmass Drive to Capitol Avenue. It includes the installation of eight new sewer manholes and sewer main pipe, the abandonment of existing pipes and four manholes, the reconnection of all sewer service lines, and the restoration of all affected asphalt and concrete surfaces.

Construction activities will include excavation, heavy equipment, and construction noise. To minimize local disruptions, construction will be restricted to the summer season when the Roaring Fork School District is not in regular session. Traffic control and construction mitigation efforts will be implemented to ensure safety and to minimize disruption. The Town of Carbondale’s Utilities Department and engineering support is available to manage construction impacts or conflicts.
